University of Ibadan

The University of Ibadan (UI), located in the ancient city of Ibadan in Western Nigeria, is the oldest and the most prestigious university in Nigeria. The vision of the University, which has maintained its reputation as one of the topmost research-devoted Universities in Africa, is to be a world-class institution for academic excellence geared towards meeting societal needs. The University has invested significantly in the development of its human capital for quality teaching, cutting edge research and top notch administrations. UI runs academic programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level and professional programmes at the Post-graduate level. The University also operates the distance learning mode of learning both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for some selected  courses. All the undergraduate programs run by the University are fully accredited by the National University Commission (NUC) and relevant professional bodies statutorily responsible for regulating university education in Nigeria.

The participation of the University of Ibadan in the ESEFA programme affirms a recognition that the ESEFA objectives align with the vision of UI. The University of Ibadan being the foremost producer of high level manpower resources in Nigeria runs a curriculum system that, amongst other goals, ensures that students are exposed to knowledge and skills sets which make UI graduates competitive and employable globally. The university is pursuing a robust internationalization agenda: whereby it cultivates productive collaborations with institutions and organizations that can add value within this academic context.

The ESEFA initiative at UI is being coordinated by the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering. UI plans to integrate the Enterprise Systems (ES) curriculum into select courses in the participating departments, that is, in the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering, the Department of Agricultural Economics and the Department of Computer Science, as well as into courses at the UI Business School.
