SAP and SAP University Alliances

Headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, with locations in more than 130 countries, SAP SE is the global leader in enterprise software and enterprise software-related services.

SAP Africa, a subsidiary of SAP SE which began business operations in 1982, is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. The SAP Africa Market Unit has approximately 700 employees in total and has a footprint of over 2 700 active customers in Africa across all industries. SAP has presence in Africa through the six main regional hubs namely: North Africa, Southern Africa, East Africa, West Africa, French-speaking Africa, and Portuguese-speaking Africa, supporting a total of 54 countries on the African continent.

The University Alliances Programme (UAP) opens up the world of SAP to more than 1,800 universities worldwide. Through the UAP universities gain access to an ever expanding range of exciting opportunities to engage with one of the world’s leading technology companies. Associate members can take part in competitions and contests, send students to Innojams, Codejams and Design Thinking events, get involved with our Co-Innovation projects with customers and partners in the SAP universe and get directly involved in research and the development of new SAP solutions. Full members have all this and can also gain access to full SAP solutions from Business Analytics to Mobility, HANA to BPM.

The University Alliances Community (UAC) brings together over 17,000 Professors and hundreds of thousands of students from member institutions to download resources, share their stories and engage with the wider SAP Community.

SAP makes significant financial investments in the areas of skills development and education, as can be seen by the co-sponsorship of the ESEFA project together with DEG (Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft). In collaboration with our project partners we have high hopes that ESEFA will make a considerable difference to the lives of many students in Africa.
