University of Zambia

The University of Zambia (UNZA), which was founded in 1966 by an Act of parliament, is Zambia's largest public university with a student population of about 20 000. The university motto is Service and Excellence.

UNZA is divided into the following faculties:

1. School of Agricultural Sciences
2. School of Engineering
3. School of Education
4. School of Humanities and Social Sciences
5. School of Law
6. School of Mines
7. School of Medicine
8. School of Natural Sciences
9. School of Veterinary Medicine

The ESEFA initiative at UNZA is being coordinated by the Department of Computer Science which is housed in the School of Natural Sciences. Initially, the Enterprise Systems (ES) curriculum will be rolled out in the School of Natural Sciences and in the School of Engineering. By next year 2015, the objective is to extend this ES offering to Business students in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences

As from the beginning of the new academic year, in October 2014, the School of Engineering will be offering the ES Fundamentals short course to its postgraduate students and plans to integrate the ES curriculum into some existing courses in 2015.

The Department of Computer Science plans to integrate the ES curriculum into the existing third year Computer Science study programme, and to also teach this to its current fourth (final) year students in the coming 2014/2015 academic year. Further to this the ES Fundamentals short course will be offered to its postgraduate students.

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences aims to teach the ES curriculum to its undergraduate and postgraduate stream of Business students.
